Honda Recasts Its Emblem for an Electric Future

Honda Recasts Its Emblem for an Electric Future Jan/23/2026

Honda’s latest U.S. trademark filing underscores how seriously the company is rethinking its visual language as it pivots toward electrification. On January 15, the automaker sought protection for a new figurative mark—an abstract circle split by flowing curves that suggest balance and a stylized heart—covering electric motors, generators, lawn and garden machinery, and outboard motors. The move follows the debut of Honda’s redesigned, flatter 'H' logo at CES 2024 and signals the brand’s intention to extend that minimalist aesthetic beyond cars. Set to appear on electric-vehicle models launching from 2027 onward, the refreshed identity abandons metallic excess in favor of clarity and symbolism. Honda says the design reflects a return to first principles as it builds its next generation of EVs, presenting the logo as a pair of outstretched hands—an emblem of openness, reinvention, and a renewed commitment to serving customers in an era of electric mobility.
