Xiaohongshu Prepares Global Expansion With IPO and Trademark Strategy Jul/01/2026

Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, known internationally as Rednote, is preparing for a Hong Kong initial public offering that could value the company at more than $70 billion, reflecting rapid profit growth and its emergence as one of China’s most influential digital platforms. Originally launched as a shopping guide, the company has evolved into a social commerce ecosystem with more than 400 million monthly active users, while expanding its Redshop marketplace into overseas markets including the United States and the United Kingdom. The planned listing comes amid heightened regulatory scrutiny of Chinese technology firms and their offshore corporate structures, highlighting the delicate balance between international fundraising and domestic oversight. Supporting its global ambitions, the company has also secured U.S. trademark protection for both the XIAOHONGSHU word mark and a corresponding figurative logo through Singapore-based entities, reinforcing its international brand strategy as it pursues broader recognition beyond China.
