Snap Defends Its Brand as Social Commerce and AI Converge
May/06/2026
Snap Inc. is intensifying its trademark enforcement just as social platforms evolve into AI-powered shopping and information hubs. On May 5, the company filed U.S. oppositions against Far Rockaway Ventures’ 'SNAP IT. SHOP IT. GET IT.' marks tied to visual search, e-commerce and AI-assisted retail software, as well as against 'STORYSNAP', a brand linked to advertising, animation and video-production services. The legal push coincides with Snap’s broader commercial ambitions, highlighted by a new partnership with Experian that embeds AI-driven financial guidance directly into Snapchat conversations. With more than 110 million monthly users in the U.S. and nearly a trillion chats exchanged globally in a single quarter, Snapchat is increasingly positioning itself as a conversational commerce ecosystem where shopping, advertising and financial education merge seamlessly inside everyday digital interactions.
