The filing signals a potential expansion beyond electric vehicles and energy storage into the rapidly growing AI infrastructure market. The move comes after Tesla abandoned its in-house Dojo supercomputer program and continues to rely heavily on Nvidia-powered systems for AI training, placing it in a sector currently dominated by established providers of large-scale AI compute clusters. While Tesla’s credentials in compute hardware remain unproven, the company possesses significant expertise in energy storage, power management, and thermal systems through products such as Megapack.
