Levi's Files Third Trademark Lawsuit Against Japanese Denim Maker FullCount Sep/27/2024

Levi Strauss & Co. has filed a third lawsuit against Japan-based denim maker FullCount Co., alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition. The complaint, submitted on September 12 in California federal court, claims FullCount violated past injunctions regarding Levi’s iconic trademarks, including the embroidered back pocket arch, red tab, authenticity ticket, and 501 branding. Previously, courts ruled in Levi’s favor in 2009 and 2018, barring FullCount from using designs similar to Levi's trademarks. In the current case, Levi's seeks a jury trial, injunctive relief, and financial compensation, and has named two U.S. retailers, Franklin and Poe Trust Company and Standard & Strange, as co-defendants.
