TikTok Amplifies Legal Efforts to Guard Brand Across Diverse Product Classes Feb/08/2024

TikTok has intensified its legal campaign to protect its brand, engaging in a two-pronged approach against perceived trademark infringements. Initially, the company secured an extension from the USPTO on February 6 to oppose the 'TIK TOK JELLY' trademark by Unbeatable Power LLC, aimed at products in class 30, such as candy and fruit jelly. This move reflects TikTok's strategy to prevent brand dilution and consumer confusion, considering its existing and pending trademarks in various classes. Adding to its defensive operations, TikTok lodged an opposition the following day against Beijing Xianting Health Management Service's 'TD TIKDOKT' trademark, targeted at class 12 goods like baby stroller-adapted blankets. These concerted efforts by TikTok not only demonstrate the company's vigilant defense of its brand identity across diverse product categories but also its proactive stance in maintaining the distinctiveness and integrity of its trademark in the marketplace.
