Smurfit Kappa Merges with WestRock to Form Global Packaging Leader

Ireland's Smurfit Kappa and U.S. competitor WestRock have finalized their merger, creating one of the world's leading paper and packaging companies named Smurfit WestRock. Valued at around $20 billion, the new Dublin-headquartered entity will have combined annual sales of $34 billion as of June, making it the world's largest publicly traded packaging producer.
