ElevenLabs Launches iOS App for AI-Powered Text-to-Audio Conversion

ElevenLabs, an AI audio creation firm founded by former Palantir engineers, has introduced its first iOS app, "ElevenLabs Reader: AI Audio," designed to convert text files or web links into audio narration. This app targets users who need hands-free reading solutions while multitasking, such as driving or cooking. Initially available only in English, the app plans to support over 29 languages soon. Users can adjust narration speeds, select from 11 different voices and accents, and easily import content via the iOS Share Sheet. Despite some formatting issues and occasional errors in initial tests, the app’s AI voiceover was praised for its accuracy and fluidity. Concerns about data privacy remain unanswered as ElevenLabs has yet to clarify if user-submitted texts are stored or used for training.
