L’Oréal Prevails in Domain Disputes Over Kérastase Brand Mar/25/2026

Recent WIPO decisions underscore L’Oréal’s firm defense of its KÉRASTASE trademark against opportunistic domain registrations. In two separate cases, panels found that disputed domains —one incorporating the mark outright and another employing subtle misspelling — were used to impersonate official channels, offer likely counterfeit goods, or redirect users to unrelated content, including adult services. Both respondents failed to establish legitimate interests, while evidence of phishing risks and deliberate confusion reinforced findings of bad faith. The rulings ultimately ordered transfer of the domains, reaffirming the strength of established global brands in combating cybersquatting practices.
